New to blogger.com

Ok.. I caved. I have been stalking family and friends long enough on here. I haven't had a blog in 2 years!

Well, I am trying to get through the last few weeks of undergraduate work, so I may not be a very loyal writer for the next few weeks. I am currently writing a literature review on how SSRI affects sleep. As you can tell, I am procrastinating..... I have been for over an hour now.

Today, Paul had to work and he is still there. Poor guy.. April 15th is fast approaching. Hopefully, he will have one day off during the week soon! :) He was hoping to mow the yard today. Of which, I should have done but forgot about. Oops! I can't tell if we actually have grass or weeds in our yard. Our yard is 0.15 acres. That's not subtracting the house, so maybe 0.05 of actual yard. I don't mind.. less to mow! :) Last weekend, he mowed and I picked grass out of our shrub areas. The grass is already a foot high, except for the Bermuda grass that is suppose to be our primary grass. It was consumed long ago by this mutant grass. The Bermuda is now a brown color. Ah well.. we will get another letter from our HOA telling us that our yard looks terrible and that we are embarrassing them.

The yard back in January seen through a screen. Bermuda not looking so good...

Even though the HOA gets on us about our grass, I really love where we live now. It's so nice being further out from the city. I was in Food Lion today and I chatted forever with the lady getting me deli meat. This is the second time I've had a long chat with her. I see her every week. Well, this time we talked about snakes. She hates them and had two dogs die from getting bitten by Copperheads. I told her how my family hunts snakes and how our family dog gotten bitten by a snake and nearly died. It's just moments like that you realize A) You are grew up in the country and B) You just don't have those kind of conversations with people in the city. I'm not staying you don't have conversations about country things with people in the city, but people in the city, just don't want to have conversations. They are too busy running around doing their own thing to even say "Hi!" People out here are much friendly. It's a very nice change! :)

I had to go out and get a new hair dryer today. Yesterday, mine caught on fire. It wasn't the "Oh! I got a hair stuck in it" fire, but a chemical fire. It was spraying fumes all over me. I didn't have time to wash my hair again, so I had to smell like chemicals all day yesterday. It smelled really bad. There was smoke everywhere. I had to shut the bathroom door and turn the fan on so that the fire alarm wouldn't go off. Thankfully, my team at the Relay for Life event yesterday was nice. They didn't tell me how bad it smelled. Every now and then, I got a whiff of my hair.. Wow! It smelled like I washed with cement glue. I am never buying a Wigo hair dryer again. It was $80 and only last 3 months. I went back to my $20 conair.

I will have to bother my wonderful sister tomorrow to get her help figuring out all this stuff! :) She is good at all this.

I am going to procrastinate some more...

My children.. Don't they look like brother and sister?

Hey, Holly! I'm glad you have your own blog again! It's so fun to read & catch up with what's been going on! :)

I'm interested... what effect do SSRIs have on sleep? (If you're able to just summarise quickly, I don't want you to take too much time up!)

As you know I had a disaster trying to get off my SSRI (Efexor). Have you come across any information that would shed some light on this, or info on helping people come off of them?

That's funny about the yard. Did the grass grow a foot high in ONE WEEK?? Sounds like nightmare grass. ;) Maybe you should get completely new grass in!

That's interesting how country people are more talkative there.

Poor you with the hair dryer! Yuck!

Your "children" are so cute! Is Friskie better behaved now?

I'd better let you go as I know you're really busy! I hope writing your article goes really well!

Love,
Mary
